Conversations With Creatives

Throughout my life, I have always felt deeply enriched by meeting new people and hearing their stories. This is how I took an interest in The Artist for my thesis. Meeting new artists combines my affection for art and people. This allows me to shape who I want to be as an artist as well as spark new inspiration. My interest first began with Imposter Syndrome; I was fascinated with the idea that artists sometimes feel as though they are not “true artists.” As I thought more about this topic, my interest evolved into “identity” and I sought out many artists in the Philadelphia area to meet with, interview, and photograph. What this experience has taught me is the complexities of creatives and the uniqueness of every artist’s journey. I have learned about and lived so many lives, listening to and visualizing these artist’s remarkable stories. Through my photographs I aim to capture each artist, their space, and their artwork. I wish to celebrate each artist in their own spotlight through my lens. My hope is that by viewing these images, you will also get to connect with these artists.
